Description:
Thallus: fruticose, yellow-green, 5-10 cm high.
Apothecia: common, to 1 mm diam., with black disc and prominant verrucose margin
Ascospores: hyaline, simple, 9-11 x 6-8 µm.
Ecology and distribution. Common and widespread on the Falkland Islands where it forms extensive colonies on acid rocks from sea-level to summit fellfields. Also reported from southern South America, the Antarctic Peninsula and islands in the south Atlantic Ocean. Apparently absent from the southern Indian Ocean islands, Australia and New Zealand.
